Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial is a journal that dedicated to publishing and disseminating the results of research and development in social welfare area.The scope of this journal cover field research in social welfare areas. The topics include social protection, social security, social rehabilitation, social empowerment, poverty alleviation and management of social development
Peer Review Process
Manuscripts submitted to Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial will undergo a selection and assessment process by the Board of Editors to ensure their accordance with the writing guideline, focus, and scope, and that they are of excellent academic quality. The manuscripts will be reviewed using the double blind peer review method in which case neither authors nor reviewers know each other’s identities.
Desk Review. At the desk review stage, manuscripts will be examined to ensure that they have met the writing guideline, focus, and scope with excellent academic quality. If they do not meet the conditions, the author will be given the opportunity to revise their manuscript according to the given criteria. However, there is also the possibility that the manuscript will be directly rejected.
Peer review. When the manuscript has passed the desk review stage, it will then be delivered to two reviewers who are experts in the field of the submitted manuscript. The review process will be done within 3 weeks. Manuscripts that did not successfully pass the desk review process will not proceed to this stage.
Reviewer’s decision. The reviewers will provide the following recommendations:
- Accepted; means that the manuscript is acceptable for publication
- Accepted with minor revisions; means that the manuscript is acceptable for publication once it is revised in response to the reviewers’ concerns
- Accepted with major revisions; means that substantive inadequacies in the manuscript, such as data analysis, the main theory used, and rewriting of paragraphs, need to be revised
- Rejected; means that the manuscript is not acceptable for publication or the given reviews relate to very basic issues
The reviewer’s decision will be considered by the Board of Editors to determine the ensuing process of the manuscript.
Revision Stage. Once the manuscript has been received with notations of minor or major revisions, it will be returned to the author with a review summary form. For manuscripts accepted with major revisions, authors are allotted 3 weeks to revise. Whereas for manuscripts accepted with minor revisions, 1 week is allotted for revision. When returning the revised manuscript, the author is required to fill in and attach the review summary form.
Final decision. At this stage, the manuscript will be re-evaluated by the Board of Editors to ensure that the author has revised in response to the reviewers’ concerns. In this final decision, the manuscript may still be rejected if the author did not seriously conduct the revisions necessary.
Proofread. Once the manuscript has been deemed acceptable by the Board of Editors, it will undergo a proofreading process to maintain linguistic quality.
Publication confirmation. At this stage, the final layout of the manuscript will be resent to the author to ensure that the content is in accordance with the author’s writing. At this stage, the author may revise any typographical error found in the final manuscript. Once confirmation from the author is given, the Editorial Secretary will process the manuscript for online publication on the website as well as print publication.
Publication Frequency
Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial publishes three times in a year i.e. April, August, and December
Open Access Policy
This journal provides immediate open access to its content on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge.

Publication Ethics
Sosio Konsepsia is a peer-reviewed journal. This journal follows guidelines from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) facing all aspects of publication ethics and, in particular, how to handle cases of research and publication misconduct.
This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the act of publishing an article in this journal, including the author, the Editor-in-Chief, the Editorial Board, the peer-reviewers and the publisher.
Sosio Konsepsia Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial is dedicated to following best practices on ethical matters, errors, and retractions. The prevention of publication malpractice is one of the important responsibilities of the editorial board. Any kind of unethical behavior is not acceptable, and the journals do not tolerate plagiarism in any form.
Sosio Konsepsia Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial adapts COPE to meet the high-quality standard of ethics for publisher, editors, authors, and reviewers. As an essential issue, publication ethics needs to be explained clearly to improve the quality of the research worldwide. In this part, we explain the standard for editors, authors, and reviewers. Publisher doesn’t have the right to interfere with the integrity of the contents and only support to publish in a timely manner.
For Editors
Editors should consider these following statements:
- Based on the review report of the editorial review board, the editor can accept, reject, or request modifications to the manuscript.
- Editors should be responsible for every article published in Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial
- The editors may communicate with other editors or reviewers in making the final decision.
- An editor has to evaluate the manuscript objectively for publication, judging each on its quality without looking to nationality, ethnicity, political beliefs, race, religion, gender, seniority, or institutional affiliation of the authors. He/she should decline his/her assignment when there is a potential for conflict of interest.
- Editors need to ensure the document sent to the reviewer does not contain the information of the author, vice versa.
- Editors’ decision should be informed to authors accompanied by reviewers’ comments unless they contain offensive remarks.
- Editors should respect requests from authors that an individual should not review the submission if these are well-reasoned and practicable.
- Editors and all staffs should guarantee the confidentiality of the submitted manuscript.
- Editors will be guided by COPE flowcharts if there is a suspected misconduct or disputed authorship.
For Reviewers
Reviewers need to comment on ethical questions and possible research and publication misconduct:
- Reviewers will do the work in a timely manner and should notify the editor if they can not complete the work.
- Reviewers need to keep the confidentiality of the manuscript.
- Reviewers should not accept to review the manuscripts in which there is a potential conflict of interest between them and any of the authors.
For Authors
Authors should consider these following statements:
- Author(s) affirm that the material has not been previously published and that they have not transferred elsewhere any rights to the article.
- Author(s) should ensure the originality of the work and they have properly cited others’ work in accordance with the format of the references.
- Author(s) should not engage in plagiarism nor self-plagiarism.
- Author(s) should ensure that they follow the authorship criteria that are taken from Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial that is explained in instruction for the author of Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial
- Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal concurrently. It is also expected that the author will not publish redundant manuscripts or manuscripts describing the same research in more than one journal.
- Authorship should be limited to those who have made a significant contribution to conception, design, execution or interpretation of the reported study. Others who have made significant contribution must be listed as co-authors. Authors also ensure that all the authors have seen and agreed to the submitted version of the manuscript and their inclusion of names as co-authors.
- The author(s) haven’t suggested any personal information that may make the identity of the patient recognizable in any forms of description part, photograph or pedigree.
- Author(s) should give the editor the data and details of the work if there are suspicions of data falsification or fabrication.
- If at any point in time, the author(s) discovers a significant error or inaccuracy in the submitted manuscript, then the error or inaccuracy must be reported to the editor.
- Authors of the journal should clarify everything that may cause a conflict of interests such as work, research expenses, consultant expenses, and intellectual property on the document of Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial form disclosure.

Journal History
Sosio Konsepsia: Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial presents scientific essays in the form of the results of field research on social welfare. Publish three times the April, August, and December periods.
Starting issue Vol. 1 No. September 1 - December 2011, was a continuation of the "Jurnal Penelitian dan Pengembangan Kesejahteraan Sosial " which was first published in Volume 1 No. January 1, 1995 to Volume 16 No. 2 May - August 2011.
Starting from edition V ol 5 No.2 January - April 2016 Sosio Konsepsia used Open Journal System (OJS). The authors who want to publish articles in Sosio Konsepsia can submit their manuscripts through OJS:

Since 2022, the management of Sosio Konsepsia Journal has been transferred from Center for Research and Development of Social Welfare of the Education Agency, Research and Social Extention to the Center for Education, Training and Professional Development, Ministry of Social Affairs Republic of Indonesia.
